About Me

Hi, my name is Cecily. I started my acupuncture journey in 2020 and graduated from the College of Integrated Medicine in Summer 2023, gaining a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.

How did I get into acupuncture?

My previous career was as a dog groomer, and I ran my business from 2018-2022. I loved this job, and all my doggie clients, with all my heart. But as the years passed, I realised it was not a job that allowed longevity of the physical body, and it often left me emotionally and physically exhausted. At the time, my mental health was at it’s all time lowest and I knew that I needed to make some big changes.

I came across the idea of practising acupuncture whilst watching a physics documentary about pyramids (very unusual, I know!), The host explained the actions of acupuncture needles and their ability to channel and direct energy into pinpointed locations. Some spark ignited within myself; I wanted to see for myself if this was true and set out on my journey for a drastic career change.

My Journey with Acupuncture Treatments

I started having acupuncture the week of my college application interview. From the first appointment I felt a huge shift in myself. I felt more in control of my health, and the depression that I was absorbed into finally had a ray of light shining through. Each treatment I felt got me closer to my true self, and I was more capable of handling my daily life. Acupuncture has given me a quality of life that I never thought I would experience, and I am forever grateful to my acupuncturist, Gisela Norman, for this gift.

With the current state of the world it is unsurprising the amount of people with physical, mental, emotional and spiritual disease. By connecting to your raw energies and living with the elements we can help to manage the damage that comes with living disconnected to the Earth, More than ever, we need to unplug, ground, rediscover and act with joyful curiosity everything that the natural world has to offer. Realign, ground and thrive. My purpose is to pass on the gift of healing through acupuncture to others.

The Red Kite

The symbol for my practise is the Red Kite. To complete my acupuncture journey meant I was travelling back and forth from Reading 4-6 times a month. Getting up at 4.30am to drive 1hr 45mins on a Saturday and/or Sunday was a not so enjoyable part of the course. But, on the drive there on the M4, in the sleepy hours of the morning I got to witness Red Kites soaring above my car. This sight was a small blessing each time I saw one, and it made me reconnect to my goal and purpose of becoming a healer. Even in the centre of Reading these Red Kites would appear, and instantly all my worries and stress would disappear, I would gain instant clarity.

I have felt that the Red Kites were a very special animal guide on my journey, and I wanted to build my practise always remembering my purpose.
